Metalcraft Division Inc. is a full service engineering and development firm located in Mexicali, Baja California. Established in 2001, we offer a full range of services, from conceptual development , tooling manufacture to production setups.

Metalcraft Division Inc. was founded in 2001 by Daniel Carrasco Felix. Daniel worked his business at night and on weekends after working his regular job as a Tooling Design Engineer for a local Truck Company. Shortly, MDI had had started to generate some business just by word of mouth and by being competitive in pricing. Originally the plan was to build tooling and fixtures only. It did not take long for Daniel to find out that there were a lot of opportunities for general CNC machining of small and medium size runs of precision parts. After six months of working 50 hours per week at his regular job, and then another 40 hours at MDI, Daniel realized he had to quit one or the other.
In January 2002 Metalcraft Division Inc. became his full time job. Since then has grown to 7 full time employee’s with combined 45 years experience among them. Success came from a lot of blood sweat and tears along the way as well as the difficulty of finding a good work crew to make the quality components and fixtures their customers require.
